Intelligence Community Directive Number 190: Critical Information (CRITIC) (Effective February 3, 2015) [open pdf - 1MB]
The purpose of this Directive is the following: "(1) This Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) establishes policy for the timely identification and transmission of critical information (CRITIC) pursuant to EO [Executive Order] 12333, Section 1.3(b)(13). (2) This Directive rescinds Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 7/4, 'Critical Information (CRITIC).'" Its applicability is as follows: "This Directive applies to the Intelligence Community (IC) as defined by the National Security Act of 1947, as amended; and to such elements of any other department or agency as may be designated an element of the IC by the President, or jointly by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the head of the department or agency concerned."
