"The Energy and Water Development appropriations bill provides funding for civil works projects of the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), for the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), the Department of Energy (DOE), and several independent agencies. President Obama's FY2015 budget request for Energy and Water Development was released in March 2014. The request totaled $33.68 billion, compared to a total of $33.6 billion appropriated for FY2014. The House Appropriations Committee approved the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill for FY2015 on June 20, 2014 (H.R. 4923, H.Rept. 113-486), with a total spending level of $34.01 billion, $326.9 million above the request. The Senate Appropriations Committee's Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development approved its version of the bill on June 17, 2014, with a total of $34.2 billion."
