State and Local Approaches Bulletin [November 25, 2002]   [open pdf - 38KB]

"Many states and local jurisdictions are developing, implementing, and executing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) terrorism preparedness programs, or updating existing programs, as a result of the Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) needs assessment and strategy development process. In so doing, ODP recognizes that many states and local jurisdictions have developed and implemented innovative approaches to WMD terrorism preparedness. The attached bulletin highlights one such program in the State of New York. This bulletin is the second to be published in a series we are calling the 'State and Local Approaches Program'. The purpose of this program is to document innovative practices, projects, programs, approaches, methods or techniques that greatly enhance the WMD preparedness of a state or local jurisdiction and can be replicated in other jurisdictions."
