Atlanta Fire Rescue Department: Community Risk and Vulnerability Assessment for Floods [open pdf - 0B]
"The problem is that the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD) has not identified the communities within its response area that are vulnerable to flooding and its capabilities to mitigate the floods within those communities. The purpose of this descriptive research project is to outline a community risk and vulnerability assessment related to flooding that will assist the AFRD with the placement of the swift water rescue team as it relates to flooding response incidents. The researcher of this descriptive research project utilized the descriptive research method to answer the following three questions: 1) What, if any, City of Atlanta communities have been identified for potential flooding? 2) What, if any, Atlanta Fire Rescue Department or City of Atlanta documents exist to complete a vulnerability assessment concerning flooding? 3) Does the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department need a vulnerability assessment for community flooding?"
