"The problem associated with this research was to determine whether Colerain Township Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Service's current computer simulated training program could be designed to provide further training to current members, introduce multiple computer simulated training programs, and, possibly, generate financial income. The purpose of this research paper was to explore the development of computer simulated training within the fire service specifically related to Colerain's current computer training platform. The action based research utilized three questions to assist with guidance and factual building to ensure complete, and true, research was accomplished. The initial question evaluated the use of computer simulated training and its affect upon critical thinking skills required in emergency situations. The second question reviewed the availability and progress of available computer simulated training programs found within the public and private sectors. The third question examined the validity of implementing computer simulated training into the traditionally accepted training styles associated with cost, time and practicality."
