Advancing a New Approach to Drug Policy: Key Accomplishments   [open pdf - 287KB]

"Since the release of the President's National Drug Control Strategy in May 2010, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) has coordinated an unprecedented government-wide public health and public safety approach to reduce drug use and its consequences in the United States. Restoring balance to our national drug control efforts has been made possible by the President's FY 2011 budget request to increase funding for drug prevention by $207 million and increase drug treatment funding by $137 million, 13 and 4 percent increases respectively, compared to FY 2010."
