President Obama Signs New York Disaster Declaration [September 8, 2011]   [open pdf - 12KB]

On September 8, 2011 President Obama declared a state of disaster for the state of New York and ordered federal aid to support response efforts after Tropical Storm Lee on September 7, 2011. Federal funding is available on a cost sharing basis for disaster response efforts in affected areas. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will be coordinating response efforts. FEMA may make additional funding available based upon further damage assessments.
