ABSTRACT

National Policy on Securing Voice Communications(U)   [open pdf - 93KB]

"In May 1982, The National Communications Security Committee reissued NCSC-8 as the national policy on securing U.S. Government voice communications. The policy sets forth those U.S. voice communications which are to be secured, and specifies the manner in which the policy is to be implemented. NCSC-8 was originally classified as CONFIDENTIAL. As Chairman of the National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Committee, I have reviewed this policy and determined that it should be downgraded to unclassified and reissued as NSTISSP No. 101. NCSC-8 dated May 1982 is hereby cancelled and superseded by NSTISSP 101."
