Maritime Domain Analysis and Planning System (MDAPS): A Catalyst for Homeland Security Information Exchange [open pdf - 8MB]
This presentation is a drafting proposal for year end money to begin work on a concept for a Maritime Domain Analysis and Planning System (MDAPS). The intent would be to leverage existing work and technologies to create a West Coast test bed and begin to build an architecture for the collection of a wide range of inputs, analyze, correlate and affiliate information, and disseminate/present it in a format that is conducive to planning and decision making. Efforts range from container sensor suites, shipboard wireless communications, ship status reporting/communications (globally), ship tracking, synthesis, analysis and affiliation of data from multiple sources (open, national, etc.) of information, data mining and anomaly identification, and a multi-layer information system structure for analysts and decision makers.
