Alternate Title: 9/11 Commission, Second Public Hearing: Statement of Senator Jon Corzine, May 22, 2003

The second public hearing of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States was held on May 22-23, 2003 in Washington, DC. The Commission heard testimony on Congressional oversight as well as the state of the aviation security before and after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This testimony was part of a panel entitled "Affected Constituencies". In this statement before the Commission, Senator Corzine urges the Commission "demand access to all relevant materials, and that you develop findings that lead to recommendations that will strengthen America's security," and to "review not just why those vulnerabilities [exposed by 9/11] were not addressed, but [...] to take the lessons learned and apply them to reshaping our future."
