S. Hrg. 108-460: This purpose of this hearing is to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan and, in particular, outline how security progress can solidify and expand on the successes that have been achieved until now. Topics under consideration are: securing the Pakistan-Afghan border against Taliban activity; overcoming security and logistical deficiencies so that free and fair Presidential and parliamentary elections can take place in June 2004; and, examining the expansion of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
