This data supplement serves as a companion volume to the 2008 National Drug Control Strategy and evaluates the effectiveness of the strategy over the past five years. The document compiles tables of various components of the drug situation in the United States, including but not limited to: prevalence and perception of drug use, consequences of drug use, drug treatment, drug user expenditures and availability, and state, local, and international data on drug production and use. The tables account for different geographic regions, demographic groups, and specific types of drugs. Also included is a description of the major data sources used to produce the volume and a glossary of relevant acronyms.
