ABSTRACT

Vaccine Injury Compensation Program: Addressing Needs and Improving Practices: Sixth Report by the Committee on Government Reform, One Hundred Sixth Congress, Second Session, October 12, 2000   [open pdf - 182KB]

House Report 106-977: "The Vaccine Injury Compensation Program: Addressing Needs and Improving Practices" investigates the implementation and operation of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. The report responds to the complaint of families reporting vaccine injury and explains the purposes of the Act. Since states now require that virtually all children be vaccinated prior to entering school, issues of vaccination-related injuries increasingly exist. Outlines of the background of vaccination programs, compensation programs, legislative proposals, and congressional hearings are major topics included in the report.
