Urban Areas Security Initiative Assessment and Strategy Deadline Extension   [open pdf - 29KB]

"Over the past several weeks, the Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) has received numerous communications from State Homeland Security Assessment and Strategy (SHSAS) and Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) participants voicing concerns about the Online Data Collection Tool (DCT). We appreciate your comments, as they assist us in identifying system problems. ODP has been working diligently to address your concerns and to increase the reliability and performance of the tool. For this reason, the DCT will be offline this weekend for maintenance. Additional information on the date and time of maintenance will be provided on September 26, 2003. ODP is aware that problems with the DCT have made it challenging for UASI jurisdictions to meet their assessment deadlines, and we recognize the effort and dedication that state and local users have shown in attempting to complete the SHSAS and UASI processes within these tight timelines."
