This CRS report examines domestic and international materials relevant to criminal sanctions attached to the development, production, possession, and use of biological and chemical weapons. It also addresses certain federal regulations associated with the development, production, and transportation of biological agents. More specifically, it reviews general penalties, possession offenses, mailing injurious articles, WMDs and providing material support to terrorists, and acts of terrorism transcending national boarders.
